# Using your own domain for a form

> Maxforms serves every form from its own form domain; embedding the form in a page you host is how you put it on your own address.

Maxforms doesn't offer custom form domains. Every published form is served from the Maxforms form domain at a fixed address you can't change or rename. If you want your form to live at an address you own, embed it in a page you already host — the page URL is yours, and the form fills it.

## What your form's address looks like

The **Share Link** field on the form's **Share** tab holds the whole thing:

It's the Maxforms form domain followed by a short code that identifies your form. Maxforms generates that code when you create the form, and it's unique across every account.

You can't change any of it. There is no vanity path, no custom slug, and no field anywhere in the builder or the form's **Settings** tab that edits the address. The upside is that the link is permanent: publishing changes, renaming the form, or moving it between workspaces never breaks a link you've already shared.

## Put the form on an address you own

Embedding is the supported way to serve a form from your own domain. Your page keeps its own URL, its own navigation, and its own analytics; the form is rendered inside it.

1. Open the form and select the **Share** tab.
2. Under **Embed Form**, pick **Full page** if the form should be the whole page, or **Standard** if it sits inside an existing page.
3. Select **Get the code** and copy the snippet.
4. Paste it into a page on your site — for example `yourcompany.com/apply`.

## Make the shared link look like yours

Even though the address is ours, the preview card people see when they paste the link isn't. On the **Share** tab, select **Customize** under **Link Preview** to set your own **Title** and **Description** on any plan, and your own social share image and favicon on a paid plan. ## If you were told a redirect would work

Pointing a domain or a subdomain you own at your form's URL with a redirect sends people to the Maxforms address — their browser shows the form domain, not yours, from the moment the redirect fires. Embedding is the only approach that keeps your address in the browser bar the whole way through.
