Questions

Frequently asked questions

01

What should a golf tournament registration form include?

A golf tournament registration form should collect the golfer details and payment choices your committee needs. The template includes full name, email, phone, handicap, team name, other foursome players, shirt size, dietary restrictions, interest in sponsoring, and Registration and Extras. Set individual golfer, foursome, mulligan pack, and dinner-only guest prices to match your event.

02

How much does it cost to take golf registration payments online?

Online golf registration payments cost a 1% Maxforms platform fee plus Stripe processing fees. Stripe's standard US rate is 2.9% + 30¢ per successful domestic card payment. The Starter plan is $0 per month and supports payments, with 3 forms and 100 submissions each month. Eligible organizations can apply for a free Business plan, while the 1% payment fee still applies.

03

What happens to fees if we refund golfers after a rain-out?

Maxforms returns its 1% platform fee in proportion to the amount you refund. Stripe keeps its processing fee when you refund a golfer. Your committee can refund part or all of a payment after a rain-out, but the returned Maxforms fee follows the refunded amount only. Review Stripe's processing fee before deciding how much your committee will absorb.

04

Can players register as a foursome or one at a time?

Yes, players can register as a foursome or one at a time. One registration can include up to 4 individual golfers and up to 4 foursomes. Golfers can also add up to 8 mulligan packs and 8 dinner guests. Each buyer chooses quantities and pays by card in the same form.

05

Can golfers cover the card processing fee?

Yes. Your committee can add a percentage or fixed card fee on top of the registration price. Label that fee so golfers see it as a separate line during payment. Use that setting if golfers should cover some or all card processing costs. Your committee chooses the price and the added fee.

06

Does Maxforms handle scoring or pairings?

No. Maxforms collects registrations and payments, but it does not run live scoring, pairings, leaderboards, or tee sheets. The golf course usually handles scoring and pairings. Use this form to collect each golfer's registration details and payment before the course prepares tournament operations.
