Accept credit card payments through Stripe-connected forms
Stripe handles the secure card entry and any required cardholder authentication. Maxforms keeps the payment linked to the form response.
How credit card works in a Maxforms payment form
Credit and debit cards use the same Cards payment option. The Maxforms setting does not restrict checkout to credit cards only.
Stripe processes the payment on your connected account. Maxforms collects the customer’s answers and associates them with the payment.
Configure credit card on your form

Connect the intended Stripe account
Open Integrations and connect Stripe. Finish onboarding and resolve any account requirements.

Check account availability
Review the payment methods on the connected account. A method must be enabled and eligible before checkout can offer it.

Select Cards on the Payment field
Open the form’s Payment field and review Accepted payment methods. Set the amount, currency, and payment flow for the transaction.

Publish and verify the customer flow
Test a successful payment and a declined card. Confirm the customer can correct the payment without losing the purpose of the form.
Why credit card might not appear
Check the connected account’s status and the form’s Accepted payment methods first. Then check Stripe’s country, currency, customer, and flow requirements.
Stripe’s credit card documentation gives the current provider requirements. The methods on a live checkout can differ from a marketing list.
Check the payment before fulfilment
Keep another eligible payment method available when customers need a fallback. Do not mark a response paid based only on the form’s completion screen.

No. Availability depends on the connected Stripe account and transaction eligibility. Some methods also depend on the customer’s device, browser, or wallet.
