Getting started

Add and arrange fields

Add fields from the picker, edit their labels and rules, and reorder them by dragging.

On this page

Add a field by selecting Add field in the builder and picking a type; arrange fields by dragging them into place. The live preview on the left updates with every change, so you always see exactly what respondents will see.

Add a field#

  1. In the builder, select Add field (or Add your first field on a new form).
  2. Pick a type from the picker — search by name or scroll the groups. Basic types like Short text, Long text, Email, and Phone Number sit at the top; further down you'll find choice fields, File Upload, Address, Signature, and more.
  3. The new field opens for editing: type its label, switch on Required if the answer is mandatory, and select Save.

Repeat for every question. A contact form needs just three fields: a Short text for the name, an Email, and a Long text for the message.

Edit a field#

Select a field's name in the list to rename it inline. For everything else, select the field's Advanced edit button — the Edit field dialog has two tabs:

  • General — field label, field type, placeholder text, description / help text, and default value.
  • ValidationRequired Field, Unique Values Only, and minimum / maximum length.

Select Save changes when you're done.

Arrange your fields#

Each field row has a drag handle on its left edge — drag it to reorder. Hovering between two fields reveals Insert field here, which adds a new field exactly at that spot. Every field row also has Duplicate field and Delete field buttons.

When the form asks everything you need, it's time to publish and share it.
